Regulatory Chamber of the Free State of Bavaria
In Bavaria the responsibilities of the Bavarian Regulatory Authority are carried out independently by the "Regulatory Chamber of the Free State of Bavaria" since the 1st February, 2013.
The central tasks of the Bavarian Regulatory Authority are in particular the regulation of the power distribution systems, the monitoring of the regulations regarding unbundling and the control of abuse practices of network operators.
In Bavaria there are about 330 electricity and gas distribution system operators (Verteilernetzbetreiber) with less than 100.000 customers connected to their grids either directly or indirectly and whose grids do not extend beyond Bavaria's borders.
